Glad to hear you feel refreshed and ready to cook happily after organizing!! I love organizing, since it really does make life easier when you can look and know where things are. Something else that I love doing is sewing up clothes—a shorter hem here, a heart patch there to cover a stain. It makes me happy to be able to keep wearing clothes that aren’t brand new, and each with a little touch of uniqueness 🌟

I have been wanting to learn how to sew recently!!! There's so many used machines on facebook marketplace- it overwhelmed me in making a decision!! Do you have any beginner recommendations? This sounds like an amazing thing to do for old clothes and making them special again!

I'm honestly quite the beginner myself and have little experience with sewing machines since I pretty much only handsew, so I'm afraid I don't have any solid recommendations for machines!! (I have heard that Singer is reliable, though..!) As for general sewing recommendations, sewing is problem-solving like any craft, so I think it makes it less daunting if you start small, get used to stitching and feel familiar with how fabrics work, then gradually work on bigger projects as you learn what skills you want to have to do them. Focus on picking things to sew that make you feel accomplished and happy to look at, whether that's making loose buttons secure, making stuffed keychains, or adding a cute patch to cover a shirt stain, and through practice, experimentation, and asking questions you'll gain skills that give you confidence to try new things and think up new ways to make things that you love through sewing!

I hope that advice is helpful and wish you the bestest on your way to learning to sew, from one beginner to another!!

I went out for dinner the first time in a while yesterday & when riding the bus I couldn't help but feel so happy looking at the the yellow dandelions peeking out of the soft, dewy grass after a rainstorm, the sunset over the river & the looming city skyline. It's the little things that make the world feel so big & vast & beautiful & I feel lucky to be able to have these experiences when I am able to experience them!

For me, just going out, talking to friends, meeting friendly strangers, even people watching at brunch... it helps me feel connected to the larger world around me! Like, I really am living on this planet with so many people on it! I exist too! Knowing that there's so many people out there just living life, maybe even doing what they love, maybe even making a living doing what they love... it helps me feel reassured that there's a place for me in this world, no matter how small. I hope you always feel like you belong in this world too, Lily!! 💛 :)

I hope you can find it!!! Sometimes I think even really little things that make you happy are worth it, and not always something big and grand 💛

Wow your voice over is amazing. Sometimes I get overwhelmed how much I wanna start working on the things I enjoy that I actually forget to just do it haha. Lately I've been enjoying making abnormally looking stuffed animals while putting my drawing on the side. Maybe I'll find a way to incorporate both drawing and sewing and make my drawings "alive".

I’m happy the voiceover helped haha!! Yeah I definitely get overwhelmed with options too!!! Stuffed animals is so cool! I’ve always wanted to handmake some!! It’s always the best the sillier they look!!! Bringing your art to life is a great idea!

I just want to be alive, do things that like 🥹😭 this got me in my feels. I feel this so much, it's so simple yet it feels like I'm asking too much. I don't dream of labor or working a 9-5 but the environment we live in makes me feel bad for now wanting that. It's hard to remember that it's ok to just want to do things I like. But hearing that many people feel this way makes me feel less alone:)

Recently I found out i love going to the lake! There's something so peaceful and calming when ur just floating and weightless. It really grounded me and made me realize how beautiful nature is. I live by mountains and sometimes I forget they are there but being at the lake really made me appreciate them. Feeling grateful for the planet 😸 :)

Yeah!! Sometimes I think things can be as simple as doing a thing you like & nothing grander than that! I also live by the mountains and forget it sometimes too!!!

I totally agree with this mindset!! As a fellow illustrator, I can really relate to that need for work life balance and using other hobbies as a source of inspiration💖 and to answer your closing question- I love baking sweets, trying new coffee shops to sketch at, and plein air painting with friends. I find doing art outside makes me admire my surroundings in a creative way, but also a sense of reassurance and community if people go up to me to ask about my art👀✨

Aah it’s been a REALLY long time since I’ve done any drawing outside!!! Plein air is so much fun! I hadn’t thought about getting a sense of community from just drawing in public, I love that idea!
